About Rejuvelife Health and Wellness
Healthcare that puts the patient first.
At Rejuvelife Health and Wellness, we believe that everyone deserves a healthier, more fulfilling life. Our mission is to provide personalized, compassionate care that empowers our patients to achieve significant weight loss and reclaim their vitality. Our approach goes beyond traditional treatments, focusing on the whole person—mind, body, and spirit—because we understand that true health is about more than just numbers on a scale. It’s about living fully, feeling confident, and embracing life with energy and enthusiasm.
A provider that cares.
Our Chief Practitioner, Melissa Fisher, CRNP, embodies this philosophy. With over two decades of experience in nursing and a passion for preventive healthcare, Melissa has dedicated her career to helping patients overcome the challenges of menopause, obesity, diabetes, and other chronic conditions. Her expertise in medical weight loss, regenerative medicine, and hormone therapy allows her to offer innovative treatments that address the root causes of health issues, not just the symptoms.
Melissa’s journey in healthcare began in 2001 when she earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the prestigious Johns Hopkins University. She went on to complete her Master’s degree in Nursing at the University of Maryland at Baltimore, and in 2006, she obtained her Nurse Practitioner certification through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.
Her early career saw her working in diverse settings, including cardiac telemetry, cancer research at the National Institutes of Health (NIH), and home care. These experiences gave her a deep understanding of the complexities of chronic diseases and the importance of holistic, patient-centered care.
An empathic partner on your health journey
Most recently, Melissa has focused her expertise on the treatment of obesity, a condition that affects millions of Americans and leads to a host of other health issues. She understands that obesity is not simply a matter of willpower; it is a complex condition driven by inflammation, insulin resistance, and metabolic derangements. Melissa’s approach is rooted in empathy and science, recognizing that patients need more than just advice—they need a partner in their journey to better health.
At RejuveLife, we utilize groundbreaking medications like semaglutide and tirzepatide, which are GLP-1 and GIP agonists that target the hormones responsible for hunger, fat storage, and blood sugar regulation. These medications have revolutionized the treatment of obesity, diabetes, and pre-diabetes, offering hope to patients who have struggled for years to lose weight. Under Melissa’s care, patients have experienced significant weight loss, as well as improvements in blood glucose levels, blood pressure, and cholesterol. For many, these results are life-changing, allowing them to break free from the cycle of weight gain and poor health that has held them back.
Life-long learner in health and wellness
As a Registered Nurse Practitioner, Melissa has practiced in primary care, home care, regenerative medicine, and medical weight loss. Her focus has always been on preventive healthcare, and she is passionate about empowering her patients to take control of their health. In her primary care practice, she implemented a wellness program dedicated to the prevention and treatment of chronic diseases, with a special emphasis on type 2 diabetes. This program was a testament to her belief that health is not just about treating illness but about preventing it from taking hold in the first place.
Melissa’s commitment to her patients’ well-being led her to pursue further certifications in areas that would allow her to offer comprehensive, cutting-edge care. She obtained certification as a personal trainer and in sports medicine through the American Aerobic Association International (AAAI) and the International Sports Medicine Institute (ISMI). Her work in regenerative medicine saw her treating patients with stem cells for a variety of conditions, including arthritis, plantar fasciitis, hair loss, and other inflammatory conditions. Additionally, she earned a Master certification in bioidentical hormone therapy from Dr. Angela DeRosa, founder of the Hormone Health Institute. This certification enables her to provide tailored hormone treatments for premenopausal and postmenopausal women, addressing the symptoms of estrogen and testosterone deficiency.
A specialized approach for each patient
Melissa’s approach is deeply personal. She takes the time to get to know each patient, understanding their unique challenges, goals, and motivations. She listens with compassion, offers guidance with expertise, and celebrates each milestone with genuine enthusiasm. Having faced her own health challenges, Melissa knows what it’s like to struggle with weight and well-being. This empathy drives her commitment to her patients, making her not just a healthcare provider, but a trusted ally in their journey to better health.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Melissa is a proud Maryland native, deeply rooted in the community she serves. She is married, with two children and two beloved dogs. In her free time, she enjoys boating, traveling to see Taylor Swift concerts around the world, and spending quality time with her family. Owning her own practice, Rejuvelife Health and Wellness, has been a lifelong dream for Melissa, allowing her to do what she loves most—changing lives, one patient at a time.
